DOVER — During the Feb. 5 meeting of the Delaware General Assembly’s Joint Finance Committee, Sen. Laura Sturgeon, D-Woodbrook, noted that University of Delaware student leaders have concerns about student safety and campus climate.
The legislator said that, during a Zoom gathering the prior day, several Blue Hens — including international students and students of color — told her that certain posters for the Center for Black Culture, as well as for diversity and inclusion groups, are not allowed to be displayed at the school.
