Bill would create board for Jackson’s water system

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – There could soon be a new state law that would create a board to run the City of Jackson’s water system.

A bill passed the Mississippi house on Wednesday that led to the Jackson City Council calling a special meeting. The council is not on board.

The bill would put a plan in place for when Ted Henifin, the interim third-party manager for JXN Water, leaves. It would create the Metro Jackson Water Authority Act, with a board that would be responsible for overseeing the water authority…
