Midday gunfire rattled Algiers last week, and now New Orleans police want the public’s help identifying a man they believe can help explain what went down. Investigators say two adult males exchanged gunfire around 1:50 p.m. on Tuesday in the 3500 block of General de Gaulle Drive. On Wednesday, New Orleans Police Department released a photo of a man they think has crucial information about that shootout. Detectives stressed that the person pictured is not wanted for any crime and is being sought strictly for investigative purposes as they chase down leads.
