West Valley home ‘significantly damaged’ after flames erupt

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (KUTV) — A West Valley home was significantly damaged after a fire broke out early Wednesday morning.

The homeowner, who lives near Courtney Drive and 3100 South, said they noticed the smell of smoke and saw flames around 6:30 a.m.

By the time crews with the West Valley City Fire Department arrived, heavy flames were erupting from the back of the home, and heavy smoke was billowing from the front, according to Battalion Chief Scott Hall.
