BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. (WLOS) — North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein appointed Leah Wong Ashburn, CEO of Asheville-based Highland Brewing Company, to the Governor’s Advisory Committee on Western North Carolina Recovery as an at-large member.
The announcement, made Wednesday, Feb. 11, was among several appointments to various boards and commissions across the state.
She will serve alongside other Buncombe County representatives, including Jack Cecil, the president of Biltmore Farms, and Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer.
Stein said Wong Ashburn’s past board service includes the NC Brewers Guild, Asheville Chamber, Buncombe County Tourism, AB Tech Community College, and RiverLink. She currently serves on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Board of Visitors…
