Construction worker killed, another hurt in chain-reaction N.J. Turnpike crash

One construction worker was killed and another was injured after a collision on the New Jersey Turnpike caused a chain-reaction in a construction zone, officials said.

Mark Kmetz, 61, of Hillsborough, was pronounced dead at the scene less than a half-mile south of Exit 15X in Secaucus, State Police said.

Another worker — a 68-year-old Clifton man — was treated for moderate injuries following the crashes at 8:55 a.m…
