A Bronx man, Manuel Nunez, has been sentenced to nine years in prison following an altercation at an after-hours club that resulted in gunfire and injuries. The August 2023 incident concluded in court with Nunez convicted of attempted assault, third-degree assault, and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Bronx District Attorney’s office. The trial wrapped up on December 12, 2025.
District Attorney Darcel D. Clark said that after a dispute, Nunez fired a semi-automatic pistol inside a crowded after-hours club, wounding two men, and that he has been held accountable for his actions. Nunez was sentenced on February 9, 2026, by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Timothy Lewis.
The incident took place at a club located at 80 West 169 St., where at approximately 6:48 a.m., Nunez became involved in a dispute with another male patron. It escalated to the point where Nunez shot the man in the back. The injured party sustained a through-and-through gunshot wound from his rear end to his thigh, and a security guard was also grazed by the bullet.
