DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) – Two people are in custody after one allegedly reached for a gun during a traffic stop. While heading to a reported shooting early Thursday morning, officers saw a driver leaving the area and started a traffic stop.
According to the Dayton Police Department’s Lt. Eric Sheldon, the officers were enroute to the 1200 block of Edison St. on a report of a person shot at approximately 1 a.m.
The officers reportedly saw a pickup truck driving on Edison Street and then turning onto North Woodward Avenue. They started a traffic stop.
