Chuck Surack shares new details on downtown Fort Wayne grocery store

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) – Downtown Fort Wayne will get a new full-service grocery store, Mayor Sharon Tucker announced during her State of the City address Wednesday.

The announcement drew applause from the audience, celebrating the end of years of requests from residents for a downtown grocery option.

Developer Chuck Surack of Surack Enterprises said the store will occupy the former Perfection Bakery building on Pearl Street. Demolition is already underway inside the building.

The store will span at least 30,000 square feet and include a meat market, delicatessen and bakery, Surack said…
