Two dead after fiery wrong-way crash on U.S. 27 in Broward, FHP says

Two drivers were killed early Wednesday morning in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 27 in Broward County that left one car engulfed in flames and its driver trapped inside.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. at Mile Marker 37, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Investigators said a Range Rover collided head-on with a Nissan Altima. The Range Rover caught fire, trapping the driver inside. Both drivers died at the scene, FHP said.

The northbound lanes were temporarily closed but reopened around 7 a.m…
