Alabama state trooper hospitalized after shooting in Montgomery

An Alabama state trooper was injured Wednesday night in a shooting with a suspect in Montgomery, state police say.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency confirmed that a special agent assigned to ALEA’s SWAT was struck by gunfire during an officer-involved shooting incident that on Feb. 11 at about 5:51 p.m. in the 4000 block of Longleaf Drive in Montgomery, said Capt. Jeremy Burkett, spokesman for ALEA. The special agent was taken to a local hospital for treatment, he said.
