N.J. elementary school closes after water main break damages building

An elementary school in Essex County will be closed Thursday and transition to remote learning on Friday following a water main break.

Oak View School on Garrabrant Avenue in Bloomfield “experienced water damage due to a water main break in the building,” Principal Michelle Fanning wrote in a letter to parents on Wednesday.

“Our maintenance and emergency restoration teams are already on-site. However, to ensure everyone’s safety and to allow for necessary repairs and inspections, we must adjust our schedule for the remainder of the week,” the letter said…
