- Jonathan Smith, 30, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and multiple firearm-related felonies in connection with a Jan. 24 shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.
- Police say Smith shot and injured a 23-year-old man and also fired at a vehicle carrying a 28-year-old man and a 4-month-old boy, though they were not struck.
- Smith was arrested Feb. 10 and is scheduled to appear in court Friday.
