MACY, Neb. (KCAU) — Preserving a language and teaching it to the next generation takes effort, and some new technology can help make that task a little easier for members of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska.
The tribe announced on Facebook that learners can now use various apps to strengthen their knowledge of the Omaha language, saying, “These mobile apps give community members, students, and families access to language learning anytime, anywhere — supporting ongoing efforts to preserve and pass forward our words, culture, and identity.”
The app is free to download on both Android and iPhone. There is also a second version of the app available to iPhone users that is more advanced to help people expand their vocabulary even further…
