Houston, Texas – Texas leads the nation in tornado reports most years, and when an alert is issued, residents often have only minutes to act.
According to the National Weather Service, tornadoes occur most frequently between the Rocky Mountains and west of the Appalachians, placing much of Texas in a high-risk corridor that stretches from the Panhandle through North Texas and into the Gulf Coast.
