CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Mo. — A man from Sparta has been sentenced after a jury found him guilty of murdering his father in August 2023.
According to court documents, Chantry Dean Hale, 47, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for first-degree murder without parole and was also given an additional 30 years for armed criminal action. The sentence will be served consecutively.
The probable cause statement says that the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of a fatal shooting in 2023. A witness told police they saw Hale strike his father, Jimmy Hale, with their fist and then shoot him, resulting in his death, the statement says…
