SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — An organization that has helped thousands of South Dakotans over the course of 5 decades is being celebrated. Wednesday is 211 Day. The Helpline Center has saved, changed, and improved lives, with one goal in mind: to offer help in times of need.
The Helpline Center began serving South Dakota in 1974. Back then, you would have dialed on a rotary phone. The agency now employs more than 50 people and offers help 24 hours a day.
