Eugene florists reveal Valentine’s Day flower price secrets

EUGENE, Ore. – As Valentine’s Day approaches, local florists in Eugene are preparing for the holiday rush. The National Retail Federation predicts Americans will spend a record $29 billion this year on Valentine’s Day.

Bridgette Solagbade, manager at The Flower Market, shared insights into the flower industry’s pricing.

“Get a hold of your local florist, because you’re not going to get all those charges,” said Solagbade. “Anytime you go through, I won’t name names, but any of those florists, all they are is a call center. So you’re calling them, you give them 100 dollars, and then they call a local florist and give the local florist 60 dollars, and you’re wondering why your arrangement isn’t that big.”…
