Albany man who allegedly shot at police indicted for multiple shootings

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – An Albany man who police say shot at officers has been indicted for two separate shooting incidents, Albany County District Attorney Lee Kindlon announced Wednesday.

Devante Wadjas, 29, is charged with attempted murder and multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon.

On December 18, 2025, Albany Police attempted to detain Wadjas in the Trinity Place area, when police say he fled on foot and fired four shots from a handgun at officers. Police returned fire, hitting Wadjas. He was arrested and taken to Albany Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries…
