WASHTENAW COUNTY, Mich. – A high-pressure gas release was mistaken for an explosion in Washtenaw County. Residents are advised to avoid the area.

The incident occurred on Thursday (Feb. 12) after a gas line rupture at 5:24 p.m. closed Ellsworth Road, east of State Street and S. Research Park Drive, in Pittsfield Township, causing damage to vehicles and prompting a road closure.
