Hendersonville nonprofit to break ground soon on 60 affordable units

HENDERSONVILLE – A Hendersonville housing nonprofit is moving forward with a project, years in the making, to construct 60 new affordable units in the city. Building permits for the project were issued Feb. 12.

The Housing Assistance Corporation plans to break ground in March on the second phase of the Apple Ridge project, at 762 Sugarloaf Road in Hendersonville, CEO Margaret Lebeck told the Times-News Feb. 12.

Construction of this second phase, 60 multi-family units with a staffed community center, computer room and playground, is estimated to cost just over $17 million, she said…
