Man jailed in shootout that wounded Hoover officer; charges expected in father’s killing

A 38-year-old man has been charged in a weekend shootout that left him and a Hoover police officer injured, and his own father dead.

Asa Redd Griggs is charged with two counts of attempted murder for shooting one officer in the torso, and shooting at a second officer, according to court records made public Wednesday.
