CHATTANOOGA, Tenn — More than 3,500 people have received the Medal of Honor, the highest military decoration in the United States.
But few people realize the story of that honor traces back to Chattanooga.
Nestled in the heart of downtown sits what some call one of the city’s best kept secrets, the Coolidge National Medal of Honor Heritage Center. The museum opened in February 2020 and highlights Chattanooga’s role as the birthplace of the Medal of Honor.
