DeKalb County Welcomes Christopher Bass as New Director of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs

DeKalb County has a new face leading the charge for its recreational and cultural institutions. Christopher Bass has stepped into the role of Director of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Affairs, as disclosed by DeKalb County CEO Lorraine Cochran-Johnson. Boasting over a decade and a half of leadership in park and recreation management, Bass is now at the helm, effective immediately.

Prior to his new appointment, Bass served the City of Douglasville where his leadership marked a significant period of growth and accomplishment. Under his direction, the Douglasville Town Green & Amphitheater was opened, boasting a $15 million-dollar tag; and his touch was integral in the development of park projects like Jessie Davis Park and Willing Workers Park. According to a report by DeKalb County’s website, his tenure in Douglasville also saw the fruition of a Sports Tourism Program and rapid implementation of the 10-Year Parks and Recreation Master Plan.
