Broadband rollout almost complete in Van Buren County, but hurdles remain

PAW PAW, Mich. — Thousands of people across Van Buren County now have broadband internet access as a result of a several years-long effort, but there are still a few corners of the county hitting roadblocks.

The $21 million project was made possible through a mix of federal funding and grants, including $7 million from ARPA funding, another $7 million from local internet service providers, and $7 million more from state partners, according to John Faul, Van Buren County administrator.

Good progress has been made, but Faul said there have been setbacks for a remaining 5% of the project…
