Churchgoer says she was ‘immature’ for pointing rifle at another driver

A Wildwood woman was arrested for assault after allegedly pointing a rifle at another driver during an erratic driving incident.

Dispatchers got a call about the driver of a blue Honda passenger car, later identified as 21-year-old Onjanai Nalexia Johnson, pointing a rifle at people around 11 a.m. Sunday, according to an arrest report from the Leesburg Police Department. The caller advised that she was headed north near North 14th Street and Griffin Road.

The vehicle was last seen pulling into the parking lot of Key Scales Ford, located at 1719 Citrus Blvd., quickly driving through it and coming out the north entrance onto Tally Road. Both Leesburg and Fruitland Park officers were able to stop the vehicle at 1005 Pine Dairy Rd. Fruitland Park, where Johnson and a passenger were detained, the report said.

Meanwhile, an officer met with the caller at Circle K, located at 2211 Citrus Blvd., to get details about the initial incident. The caller advised that he saw Johnson erratically driving in and out of traffic on U.S. Hwy. 441 in Tavares. This continued throughout Leesburg where she would not let others move safely in and out of lanes, the report said…
