A 25-year-old man was taken into custody Thursday morning in Cedar Rapids on serious felony and misdemeanor charges related to the alleged dissemination of obscene materials to a minor, grooming, and enticing a minor for sexual purposes. The individual has since been booked into the Dubuque County Jail.
Taras-Michael Butrie (White / Male / 25 years old) was arrested at approximately 9:15 a.m. at 455 16th Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, according to initial booking information. The arresting officer was identified as M.A. Levin. Following his arrest, Butrie was transported and booked into the Dubuque County Jail on the same date (February 12, 2026).
