Pound Middle School students build career skills during CTE month

LINCOLN, Neb. — Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month is being celebrated at Pound Middle School, where students are developing valuable skills that prepare them for both the kitchen and future careers.

In the Healthy Living 6 course, part of Lincoln Public Schools’ CTE program, students learn to follow recipes, use kitchen tools and practice food safety. Beyond nutrition, the program emphasizes teamwork, communication and leadership. Lessons are designed to mimic real-world scenarios, preparing students for careers in food and other industries.
