The City of Verona will move forward with an application for the United States Department of Transportation’s (DOT) BUILD Grant that, if awarded, would help fund a traffic study of the Verona Avenue and Main Street intersection.
Despite being the city’s most critical transportation crossroads, this intersection is identified in the comprehensive plan as Verona’s top traffic concern due to long-standing safety, congestion, and pedestrian and bicycle connectivity challenges.
In a letter to the DOT secretary, city administrator Jamie Aulik there “is scarcely a day that passes without a complaint about this intersection or a question about when it will be addressed.”…
