Nearly four years after Springfield’s Planning & Zoning Commission approved plans for the “Loose Goose” development at Grant Avenue and Grand Street, the corner has seen little visible progress. Thursday, Feb. 12, the commission heard an updated rezoning request that earned unanimous approval, with Commissioner Layne Hunton absent.
Revised plans for the development, dubbed Tribecca Park, include a food hall and multi-family residential units on an expanded, 2.5-acre property that incorporates several lots between Douglas and Grant avenues along Grand.
Grant Avenue Parkway only recently reopened after years of construction aimed at connecting downtown Springfield with Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium with an upgraded streetscape and more pedestrian-friendly infrastructure.
