EPSO named top fundraiser by Special Olympics Colorado for 2025

(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — On Wednesday, Feb. 11, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO) announced it had been awarded the Highest Fundraising Agency of 2025 by Special Olympics Colorado.

According to EPSO, the office had raised $61,285, including funds from Top Golf and Chili’s Tip-a-Cop events, the Polar Plunge, the Torch Run, and the No-Shave program. The funds raised benefited Special Olympics Colorado, which provides year-round sports training, athletic competitions, and health programs for children and adults with intellectual disabilities across the state.

EPSO said through Special Olympics Colorado programs, athletes gain physical fitness, confidence, life skills, and opportunities for social inclusion, at no cost to participants or their families.

“On behalf of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, it was an honor to be recognized with the Highest Fundraising Agency of 2025 award,” said El Paso County Sheriff Joseph Roybal. “Members of our Office—both sworn and professional—consistently demonstrate incredible generosity by giving their time, energy, and resources for the greater good of our community. Whether through the Polar Plunge, Torch Run, Tip-A-Cop, or our No-Shave program, their commitment goes far beyond their daily duties.”
