(NewsNation) — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem pushed back against criticism of the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act during a press conference in Arizona on Friday.
“There is only one reason that anyone would oppose this bill, and that’s because they would want to cheat,” Noem said. “They want illegal people and aliens in this country to be able to vote for them and to rob the United States citizens of their vote.”
The House passed the SAVE America Act on Wednesday, and it now heads to the Senate for a vote.
