Local Woman Spells Her Way to a New Car on “The Price Is Right”
Talk about a “TV moment!” One lucky contestant on “The Price Is Right” recently had viewers on the edge of their seats as she hilariously and dramatically won a brand new car. Amy, who made her way to the stage from Contestant’s Row, brought the house down with her uncontained excitement and a few memorable phrases.
Amy took on the “Spelling Bee” game, a seemingly simple challenge where contestants spell “CAR” using special cards. The board was packed with 11 “C”s, 11 “A”s, 6 “R”s, and the coveted two wild cards – which instantly guarantee a win.
Host Drew Carey started Amy off with two picks, numbers 9 and 11. To earn more chances, she had to accurately guess the prices of three items within $10.
First up, a latex stretch band. Amy guessed $20, and the actual price was $22, earning her card number 7.
Next, a hot plate. Her guess of $45 was close to the real price of $41, securing card number 3.
The pasta cutter, however, proved to be a trickier guess.
With four cards in hand, Carey presented Amy with a choice: walk away with $1,000 per card, or risk it all for the car. (Carey noted that no one ever takes the money, and Amy wasn’t about to break tradition!)
The tension was palpable as Amy revealed her first card: a “C.” “I’m gonna die,” she declared, the anticipation almost too much to bear.
But her worries vanished with the second reveal – it was a wildcard! Amy had instantly won the car!
In pure disbelief, she asked Carey, “Did I win?” before launching into a celebratory sprint across the stage and even diving headfirst through the car window, much to the audience’s delight.
Fans online were quick to share their joy for Amy’s win. “Congratulations, Amy, you won a brand new car!”

It just goes to show, sometimes a little dramatic flair and a lot of luck are all you need to drive away a winner!
