AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Burke County High School students are demanding answers after a calculation error caused their GPAs to drop just as they prepare to graduate.
A letter sent to students Wednesday evening informed them of the issue. Students report seeing their GPAs drop by more than a full point, potentially affecting their honor graduate status and scholarship opportunities.
“I knew what my GPA was before, and then I went back and looked, and it was over a whole point different. And when your GPA drops, your average is going to drop. So now I know that I’m not an honor grad anymore,” said Layla Nunnally, a Burke County student.
