North Charleston Police charge brother, sister in alleged mutual assault

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A pair of siblings are facing assault charges that the North Charleston Police Department says stem from them attacking one another.

Latesha Shawana Johnson, 45, and Deontay Derrick Miller, 33, are both charged with second-degree assault.

This comes after police say they responded to the 7700 block of Allwood Avenue around 10:15 a.m. Thursday for reports of a brother and sister fighting.

During an investigation, police say they were told Miller choked Johnson during the fight. That caused her to reportedly grab a pot of hot water from the stove and throw it on him. Police say she then picked up a knife, only for Miller to take it from her…
