Fishers K-9, drone used to apprehend suspect

An Indianapolis man faces multiple misdemeanors on top of outstanding warrants in several counties after Fishers Police Department officers arrested him Feb. 11 following a vehicle crash, foot chase and K-9 search, assisted by drone thermal imaging.

According to FPD, Daniel Morales Senovio was the driver involved in a late-night crash Feb. 11 at 104th Street and Olio Road.

A caller reporting the accident said that four men had run from the vehicle. FPD stated that when police arrived, the three passengers had returned but the driver remained at large.

“A brief foot pursuit ensued and an FPD drone pilot located the suspect hiding in a tree line using the drone’s thermal imaging capabilities,” FPD reported. “The drone was able to provide overwatch to officers on the ground, including a K-9 team. The suspect was apprehended and taken into custody.”…
