Mastodons gashed by Green Bay on national television

GREEN BAY, Wisc. (WANE) – In a rare national television appearance for the Mastodons, Purdue Fort Wayne dug themselves an early hole and never recovered in a 76-59 loss at Green Bay on Thursday.

Similar to their first meeting in Fort Wayne, Green Bay opened the game with a dominant run. The Phoenix took a 13-0 lead just over five minutes into the contest. Purdue Fort Wayne couldn’t score their first bucket until the 14:38 mark of the first half. The Mastodons only shot 40 percent in the first half, while Green Bay converted 62.5 percent from the floor.

Trailing 42-23 at halftime, Purdue Fort Wayne couldn’t punch back in the second half. Green Bay led 60-38 with 11:12 left in regulation to take their largest lead of the night…
