Man charged with murder in toddler’s fentanyl overdose death appears in court

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) – A Lexington man charged with murder in connection to the overdose death of an 18-month-old nearly four years ago appeared in court Friday after initially refusing to attend his scheduled arraignment.

Ka’Darrius Warren was brought to Fayette District Court by officers for his preliminary hearing after he had refused to come to court for an arraignment scheduled earlier this month.

Police say 18-month-old Cho’zyn Carter Wilson died of a fentanyl overdose in August 2022 while Warren and his girlfriend were babysitting the toddler. Police say the two were using drugs with the child in the room and passed out, waking up to find the toddler unresponsive…
