Polk Street School’s Assistant Principal John Trotta has been named the 2026 New York State Elementary School Assistant Principal of the Year. The award, given by the School Administrators Association of New York State and the National Association of Elementary School Principals, recognizes outstanding leadership in education.
Trotta has worked in the Franklin Square School District for more than a decade, first as a sixth-grade teacher before becoming assistant principal in 2016.
