SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The man accused in the deadly attack of Alvin Prasad in Sacramento was released on bail, officials said.
Prasad, 57, was found with blunt-force trauma injuries on Nov. 1 along K Street, according to the Sacramento Police Department. In December, police said they were notified that he died from his injuries.
Police said Sean Payton, 25, was arrested near the scene in connection with the attack. He was initially booked on charges related to the assault and hate crime; he was ultimately held to answer at a Feb. 11 preliminary hearing on charges of involuntary manslaughter with a hate crime enhancement and resisting arrest, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office…
