WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Your First Alert Forecast closes Friday with chilly lows in the 20s and opens Valentine’s Day with highs in the 60s. Don’t expect a washout for your Saturday date night, but a speedy low pressure system will author a First Alert Weather Day Sunday and Sunday evening for moderate to locally heavy rain, a stray rumble of thunder, and blustery south breezes. This system will likely exit to support drier skies for Presidents Day Monday. A warming trend next week could carry highs to near 70 by the midweek.
Saturday is trending mostly sunny with a seasonable high near 60. Rain arrives by Sunday afternoon and continues into Sunday night. It should make a dent in our drought conditions. #WECTwx#ILMwxpic.twitter.com/dsHJLSh7hF
