Potter County corporal honored as Deputy of the Year after rescuing man from house fire

AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) — A Potter County Sheriff’s corporal who rescued a special needs man from a burning home is being honored as Deputy of the Year.

Amarillo South Rotary presented the 2025 Deputy of the Year Award to Corporal Kelton Pulley in recognition of his actions during a house fire on Aug. 25, 2025.

According to the Potter County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home on River Road after reports of a fire with flames visible from the rear of the residence. Deputies were the first units to arrive and learned that one occupant was still inside as the fire continued to burn…
