HOUSTON — A Houston City Councilwoman called out a local developer for not following protocols while doing some work in a historic part of the city.
Councilwoman Abbie Kamin said the developer hired contractors to do some water line work on Wilson Road just west of downtown, but didn’t properly handle the historic bricks in Houston’s Freedman’s Town.
“We got a call this morning that a developer — so not city work — a developer was actually cutting into the road, removing bricks, which can be very damaging to the bricks. And so we hightailed it over here to put a stop to the work,” Kamin said…
