Man arrested for attempted murder after Thornton police chase

Thornton Police Department officers arrested a man on suspicion of attempted murder Wednesday after he led them on a chase.

Ismael Barajas Aguilar, 39, faces attempted murder, assault, domestic violence and resisting arrest charges after he allegedly shot a woman in an apartment near the 9700 block of Pearl Street on Feb. 5, according to a Friday news release from the Thornton Police Department.

That day, the woman took herself to a local hospital around 1:30 p.m. after sustaining the gunshot wound, according to the release. Investigators then obtained an arrest warrant for Barajas Aguilar, and the man was found around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday near West 84th Avenue and Huron Street…
