ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Sandia National Laboratories on Thursday held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a new unclassified Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation, also known as CAMINO.
The building is located in the Sandia Science and Technology Park, and will bring together a handful of advanced manufacturing capabilities to work in the same building. It will help support expedited design, prototyping and manufacturing of components essential to the nuclear security enterprise mission, the lab said.

“CAMINO is a framework for building advanced manufacturing collaborations,” said Associate Labs Director Steve Girrens in a news release. “It will open new design options, increase performance and make possible what once wasn`t, while delivering products faster at lower cost.”
