Teen charged in fatal crash on OSU campus in Corvallis

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A 17-year-old female has been indicted for first-degree manslaughter following a fatal crash on NW Harrison Boulevard.

The Oct. 17 incident resulted in the death of a 20-year-old Oregon State University student and severe injuries to another. According to the Benton County Grand Jury, the defendant was driving at high speed when she struck the victims in a crosswalk. Another vehicle had stopped to allow the students to pass. The defendant, currently held at the Linn-Benton Juvenile Detention Center, appeared for arraignment via video. She faces charges in adult court due to a standing order on motor vehicle cases. Her release conditions include a prohibition on driving without supervision by a family member aged 21 or older.
