Pipe wrench killing ends with 11-year prison sentence

Saratoga County, NY (WRGB) — Saratoga County District Attorney Brett Eby announced that Cyrus Tetreault has been sentenced to 11 years in New York State prison after being convicted of first-degree manslaughter in connection with a fatal pipe wrench attack in 2024.

Tetreault was sentenced by Judge James Davis following his guilty plea on November 5, 2025, to Manslaughter in the First Degree, a class B violent felony. He admitted to causing the death of Brian Miller during a violent pipe wrench attack on May 31, 2024.

According to prosecutors, Tetreault traveled to Malta with co-defendant Zachary Christie to confront an unrelated third party over a prior incident. Authorities said Tetreault, Christie, and others arrived on Sparrow Drive armed with weapons, where an altercation broke out…
