FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — Love was in the air at the Fort Wayne City Clerk’s office Friday as 14 couples said “I do” during a special Valentine’s Day eve event offering free marriage ceremonies.
City Clerk John McGauley officiated the ceremonies as part of one of his first major community initiatives. While couples were still required to purchase their marriage license through the Allen County Courthouse, the ceremony itself was free.
