A Loris woke to flames on Friday morning, and is now in the hospital with critical injuries.
The Loris Fire Department responded to the 600 block of Fox Bay Road at about 9:45 a.m., according to Fire Chief Jerry Hardee. There, they found a roughly 30 foot camper on a concrete pad, parked beside a home, as well as the victim, who told officials that he was asleep in the camper when he woke to flames, and suffered severe burns trying to get out.
The camper was lost to the fire, Hardee said, and the nearby house suffered siding damage, but no structural damage…
