A head-on collision near the Cardinal Community School District on Thursday resulted in a teen being airlifted to Iowa City with serious injuries, according to the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred on Ashland Road, a gravel roadway adjacent to the school district, at approximately 3:50 PM. The accident report states a 2004 Chevy Silverado was traveling eastbound and a 2012 Ford Escape was traveling westbound.
After the vehicles collided head on, the airbags of both vehicles deployed. The driver of the Silverado, 36-year-old Christopher Rullman, told deputies it was difficult to see vehicles due to dust on the road, according to the report. Rullman reportedly suffered minor injuries…
